Texas in Deepening Power Crisis as Unprecedented Freeze Grips Grid

ERCOT has released that they well initiate rotating power outages in Texas as of Monday evening. Rotating power outages are sometimes called a “rolling blackout,” and are extremely rare. These controlled power outages that are enacted are a last resort when there is a statewide emergency. These outages began in the middle of the night, leaving millions without power. So-called rotating power outages didn’t rotate, leaving questions about the states ability to handle such an extraordinary weather event.
